Hello, and welcome to Govcarols, the new website for those who are unhappy with the present Government’s policies and cutbacks, especially reductions in benefits, the introduction of Bedroom Tax, and cuts in spending on essential services like the NHS and education.

 

Having been forced to move because of Bedroom Tax, I understand only too well the suffering of those affected by the changes.  Now that Christmas and New Year are once again almost upon us, I think it is important that we all try to put aside our worries and try to enjoy the festive season as best we can.

 

This site, the online version of Christmas in the House, contains a collection of carols and festive songs, all of which can be sung to well-known tunes but have alternative words to reflect current Government issues. There is also a Wisdom & Verse section which includes comments and rhymes about various issues of concern.

 

So, while we wait for next Voting Day to come around, why not have some fun?  Just choose your favourite tunes, then sing along and have a laugh at the Government Ministers’ expense.

Like everyone else, Government Ministers are welcome to visit this website.  If they do, I hope they will not only have a laugh, sing along, and enjoy the festive season, but also heed the serious message behind the words: quit the cuts, axe the Bedroom Tax, or pay the price at the next election!!!
